Brooks Field Airport

Brooks Field is a non-towered airfield owned and operated by the City of Marshall.  It is managed by Airport Manager - Craig Griswold, Director of Community Services, Eric Zuzga, a five member Airport Advisory Board, and the City Council.  The airport features a single runway (10/28) 3500 x 75 feet, helipad, public and private hangars, lighted wind indicator, segmented circle, compass rose, and a tie down apron.  The airport also offers two types of self-service fuels, 100LL and 94 octane Swift ethanol free, at very competitive prices which are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Within the last five years nearly all of the paved services at the airport have been repaved.  In 2012, the City of Marshall began to lease space to Griswold Aviation LLC, who specializes in piston aircraft maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification.  Craig Griswold offers his customers a wide range of services and continues to grow and attract more pilots and planes to the airport.

In addition to aircraft maintenance, Brooks Field offers guests the opportunity to take a glider ride through the Marshall Soaring Club, and a number of community events through the Brooks Field Aviation Association.  One highlighted annual event is the Historic Fly in and Drive in breakfast which takes place in coordination with the City of Marshall’s Historic Home Tour on the first Saturday after Labor Day.

Weather services at the airfield are available through the Automatic Weather Observation, System (AWOS) and WSI Pilotbrief provided by the City of Marshall and the Michigan Department of Transportation.  Information can be accessed on tuning into frequency 120.025 or by calling 269.781.9070.
