Public Works

The City of Marshall Department of Public Works (DPW) is composed of the following main service areas:

  • Streets
  • Sewer Maintenance
  • Forestry
  • Parks
  • Cemetery
  • Compost Center

The Public Works garage is located at 619 Homer Road across from the Oakridge Cemetery. The DPW is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 56 miles of streets, 34 miles of sidewalks, 36 miles of storm sewer pipes, 42 miles of sewer mains and 233 acres of designated public parks. Other responsibilities include management and care of the cemetery, parks maintenance, snow and ice removal, fall leaf pick-up, spring brush pick-up and street sweeping. The 7 full time and 11 part-time seasonal employees of the Public Works Department will continue to provide high quality customer service to the citizens of Marshall that residents have come to know and to expect.
