Accident Reports:
If you require a copy of an accident report where no arrest was made and you were a party to the accident, please go to https://www.paypoliceticket.com and you will be able to order a copy of your report.  Iye-Crash  is an Internet based application that was developed to help law enforcement agencies and insurance companies manage and access traffic accident reports in a more efficient manner.  It will be necessary to provide Iye-Crash with the report number and, it must be entered into Iye-Crash exactly as it is written on the report.  

Freedom of Information Requests:  
If you are requesting information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), you will need to use our FOIA Form to make the request and submit it to our office.  Detail the records that you are looking for including date, incident number, name(s) or person(s) involved.  If you are not a party in the report then you must describe your connection to the incident. This is needed to determine what might be excluded under the Freedom of Information Act, which provides protection to the privacy of individuals involved. Written requests will be responded to within five workings days from the date received by our office. 

Background Checks:
In order to have a complete background check that would include any and all records within the State of Michigan, you have two options:

1)  go into http://apps.michigan.gov/ichat/home.aspx and follow the instructions or;

2)  You can make contact with the:

Fingerprints:
We currently are unable to do fingerprinting at our location.  Please check with the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department at 269-781-0880 to schedule a time to have your fingerprints taken.

Purchase Permits
Purchase Permits will be completed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a. m. to 4:30 p.m.  You must present your Michigan Driver’s License, and complete the appropriate paperwork.  Once this is completed, the MPD will complete a background check.  When the permit is ready, which under most circumstances will be two days, you will be called.  There is a $5.00 fee for this service.

PBT’s (Portable Breath Test)

PBT’s are conducted from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The charge for this is $5.00.  The offices are closed on weekends and holidays.

Vacation Home Check: 

The Marshall Police Department will conduct Security Checks of your home or business while you are on vacation.  Simply fill out the Request for Security Check Form (click on the link) or at the Marshall Police Department.  If you have any questions regarding these Security Checks, please feel free to call the MPD at 269-781-2596, prompt zero.
