Application for Deferment of Summer Taxes

SUMMER TAX DEFERMENTS

The City of Marshall Treasurer’s Office is currently accepting applications for Summer tax deferments.  Payment of the Summer taxes normally due by September 15 can be deferred until February 14 without penalty.  Note: this is not an exemption or reduction in the tax amount.  A deferment is valid for one year.  A deferment application must be submitted to the City Treasurer’s Office each year by September 15 to be eligible to defer that year's summer taxes.

To qualify, a household income cannot exceed $40,000.00. The applicant must also be 62 years of age or older, paraplegic, quadriplegic, hemiplegic, eligible serviceperson, veteran, widow of widower, blind or totally and permanently disabled. For more information, please contact the Treasurer’s Office at (269) 781-5183.  All deferment applications must be received by September 15 each year.
